Mashed Sweet Potato Recipe

Ingredients

    For the Casserole

  • 3 pounds sweet potato
  • 12 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon mace

    For the Topping

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup pecans
Directions:

    For the Casserole

  • Boil Sweet potatoes until they are cooked (30 minutes) Drain and peel
  • Measure about 4 cups
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  • Grease 13x9x2 baking dish
  • Mash the potatoes
  • Add the milk, butter, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, and mace
  • Mix fully, pour and scrape into the baking dish
  • Bake for 20 minutes

    For the Topping

  • Mix butter, sugar, graham cracker crumbs, and pecans
  • Spread topping on the casserole
  • Bake and additional 15 minutes
  • If topping with marshmallows, place on the casserole and bake for an addition five to seven minutes or until marshmallows are melted.
